An Individualised Curriculum

The Wentworth Primary curriculum is based on the New Zealand Curriculum Framework (NZCF) and shaped by the Wentworth Primary School Vision and Strategic Direction.

Key features of our curriculum:

  • English and Mathematics are given priority.
  • Science programme is based on the Cambridge International Primary Programme.
  • All seven 'learning areas' of the NZCF are taught.
  • A 'Values' programme is integrated into classrooms, homework and all aspects of school life.  Values are aligned to the Key Competencies of the NZCF.
  • All students are given rich opportunities to discover and pursue their individual talents and interests.
  • Sports and Arts programmes are available.
  • Formative assessment strategies ensure that students are involved in, and accountable for, their own learning.
  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is regarded as an important tool to enhance learning.
  • Individual Learning Profiles are developed for each child.
