The term calendar highlights just how busy the term has been and I commend the Primary children and teachers for a very successful Term 3. I have been impressed with the enthusiasm of the students towards their schooling. This is reflected in the wonderful progress being made in all areas of their education. The increasing roll for the Primary School confirms the positive view that parents hold regarding the direction in which the school is developing. There have been many highlights of the term, with still more to come in our last week with Grandparents' Day and the Interschool Soccer Competition.
Anita Savage, who has been working in the Primary School office, completes her 2 terms standing in for Sylvie Borrett. Anita has done a wonderful job; her hard work and wonderful smile have been greatly appreciated by all in the Primary School. Thank you Anita for your great work; we wish you the very best for the future. Sylvie, who has provided an excellent service at the College, will be returning to the Primary from the start of Term 4 as Gail Clews returns to the College.
I wish the children a happy two week vacation and hope to see them return to school celebrating an All Black win!
Happy Holidays.
Bruce Tong.
News...
Best wishes to members of the Interschool Soccer Team who will be representing Wentworth at the Yr 5/6 Interschool Soccer tournament being held at Victor Eaves Park in Orewa on Wednesday, 4 October.
Grandparents' Day:
All Grandparents (or elderly relatives) are invited to come and celebrate Grandparents' Day at Wentworth Primary on Wednesday, 5 October. The day will start with an assembly and welcome and then grandparents will join their grandchildren in class and stay for a shared morning tea. We look forward to having you join us.
Kidsmarathon:
We have 10 families signed up to run in the Kidsmarathon. It is still not too late to sign up for the Wentworth team. Please speak to Mr Donovan if you are interested in having your child run in this event on Sunday, 30 October.
Yummy Stickers:
We have been encouraging the children to collect Yummy Stickers and return them to school on the Yummy Sticker charts. The more Yummy Stickers we collect, the more sporting goods we are eligible to receive from Yummy Fruit. Your assistance would be appreciated.
