From the Deputy Principal…...

With Mr Lee taking over DP duties at the College, it is my privilege to be able to spend more time working with our Primary students.  I'm very much looking forward to the year ahead.

The students have made a great start to the new academic year, quickly settling into good classroom and learning habits.

All students will be sitting a number of assessments this week including Writing, Mathematics and Reading. Pseudo word (focusing on phonics) and spelling tests were mostly completed last week.  The results from these assessments will help the teachers determine the Individual Learning Profiles for each student. These profiles will be discussed with parents at the ILP evening on Thursday, 1st March, and an appointment schedule will be sent out in due course.

Wentworth Primary School welcomed seven new students on the first day of Term One and there are more new entrants starting later in the year. As you can see from the photograph below they are already enjoying their time at Wentworth.

At the end of last year the inaugural Graduation Dinner for Year 6 graduating students was held.  This evening will continue as an annual event on the Wentworth Primary calendar.
