From the Principal…...

  • Welcome:

I was most impressed with the excellent start for the term by all students. Everyone settled back into routine very quickly. There was certainly excitement looking forward to the school pantomime and disco later in the term.

  • ERO Report:

The ERO confirmed report has now been received and I will be posting a copy to all our parents this week. I wish to congratulate our teachers for creating such a wonderful learning environment for our students. I am sure you will be impressed with the review statement.
  • Individual Learning Profiles:

I.L.P. interview notices were sent home last week. Please contact Mrs Savage if you have not received our interview form. These interviews are scheduled for 16 August. The interviews will be led by the classroom teacher but we certainly require each child to attend the meeting.

  • Cross Country:

All students will be involved in the school cross country training. This will prepare students for the school cross country competition. Students can come to school in their PE gear ready for the training run, but they will be required to have their school uniform to change into after their run.

Persuasive Writing:

The school cross country was the topic for the Dolphin class. The children voted these two stories as the most persuasive. In order to give some balance two opposing views are given – you decide which is more persuasive.

Should Cross Country Running Be Allowed At School?

I don’t think cross country running should be allowed at school. I am already doing exercise at home and cross country running is dangerous.

I’m already fit. I’m doing swimming and other activities that keep me fit, so I don’t have to do cross country at school as well.

Cross country running is dangerous. If I am running across the road I could get hurt by traffic or trip over and never go to school again.

So cross country running shouldn’t be allowed at school because I am already fit and it’s dangerous.

Should Cross Country Running Be Allowed At School?

I think cross country running at school should be allowed, it helps keep me fit and I do not need to be in the classroom all the time.

I love cross country running, it makes me fit and fast. I almost caught up to Luke today by running so fast. Also a fit body is a fit and healthy brain.

Cross country is great because you get out of boring, uncomfortable school. All you do is write and maths. It really hurts my bottom because I spend so much time sitting on a hard uncomfortable chair.

Therefore I think we should be doing cross country running at school.

School Pantomime:

Congratulations to those who were successful in the recent pantomime auditions. Initially the teachers will be taking rehearsals at alternative lunchtimes. A notice will be going home asking you to assist with rehearsals at home. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask your child’s teacher.

Cross Country:

Children are allowed to wear their PE uniform to school on the morning of cross country training. Children can get changed into their school uniform at morning tea.
