Primary Intermediate North Island Interschool ski champs
Last week Wentworth Junior Ski Team comprising of Alexander Gregory, Ambrose Ledbrook, Michael Coutts, Liam Herbert and Luke Harris competed in the Primary Intermediate North Island Interschool ski champs at Whakapapa.
This event is the largest single sport childrens event to be held in New Zealand. There were 518 children with 95 school teams. Our skiers were amazing, and our team came 29th out of 95 teams!!!!! What an amazing first effort.
The Wentworth Team was a mixed team of both Primary and Intermediate ages and out of that group we came 10th out of 25.
Primary individual results were:
Michael Coutts A blistering 10th out of 143 Primary boys.
Owing to mixed weather the event just included a Giant Slalom course. The Dual Slalom and the ski cross had to be cancelled. On the day we raced the sun was out and it was a perfect day.
Many thanks to all the parents who helped get the children to the mountain and all the support and training needed to get them to the start line. Bridget Ledbrook (team manager).
Please remember to notify your child's teacher of any notable achievements that your child has made when out of school.
Please feel free to contact your child's teacher at any time.
